Avoid A Mane Wreck

Words to live by:

  • Take your face shape and style balance into consideration before asking for that nifty new style you saw in that glossy magazine!
  • Don’t forget (or neglect) to consider maintenance needs and styling time, especially if you have limited time available!
  • Do not flat iron hair without proper hair products!
  • Do not braid or tie up wet hair!
  • Do not color hair black and a week later go blonde!

Color Trauma

I am continually surprised by how uneducated people are about the products they use and how their hair is effected.  Because people don’t all have the same type of hair, even in the same family, it is hard to teach them that special products are sometimes necessary to restore hair to health.

One of the most common mistakes people make is to use off-the-shelf box color without knowing how the ingredients may affect their hair. The absolute worse thing that a person can do is to strip hair multiple times, or even worse to do it without using damage control products.  Not everyone can become a blonde.  This is not so much because of skin tone, but more often because of the hair type and original hair color a person may have.

Depending on the type of hair damage involved, it is essential to use products that will help the hair regain health and shine.  I will explain the uses of some of the products as we go further along.

Hello and Welcome…

Thank you for visiting this site and I hope you will come back often.  My name is Brittany and I graduated from Artistic Beauty College in Glendale, Arizona.

Styling hair is something I’ve always been interested in, I just never considered making it into a career.  I enjoy being able to make changes in people’s lives sometimes by merely changing hair styling routines or introducing them to a new color or cut.  I have found that it makes people smile and feel better about themselves when they see a change in their appearance.

Going to school was very important to me because it not only gave me new skills, it also helped me to fine-tune what I already knew and did well.  Going to school allowed me to observe instructors and students to see how they handled various situations and provided great hands-on training.  I think it is very important to get as much knowledge as possible so that the skills you have are used to the greatest advantage.

Have a great hair day!
